Though we travel the world to find the beautiful

we must carry it with us or we find it not

rainy day at the Pompidou ......

~    Pompidou Centre    Paris   ~
It was a rainy day when I visited the Pompidou Centre
in search of a much advertised photographic Exhibition
The queue was long but the view from the top level
was worth the waiting .... I filled in the time
by admiring this wonderful vista of my favourite city

Rue Montorgueil ......

friends chatting along this wonderful foodie street
most probably discussing what to buy for dinner
a little cheese a little chocolate a little wine
oh! and mustn't forget
 baguettes and little French tartlets

Spring-Time in Brittany ............

Brittany is one of the prettiest area's in rural France
especially at spring-time with delicate blossom trees
laden in soft pink and white petals
under-pined with snowdrops, crocuses
and elegant tall stemmed tulips

Heading Home ....

~   Caromb  Provence   ~
heading home
with baguette in hand
I imagine Madame at home preparing the mid-day meal
something really provincial like ratatouille or tarte tropezienne
She eagerly awaits the return of Monsieur with a freshly baked crunchy baguette
an integral part of every Provencial meal.

touches of turquoise .........

~   palais garnier    ~
amid the soft gentle colours of Paris
are brushes of magnificent deep coppery turquoises
I love the way this dome stands out against a background of soft grey rooftops
with their muted terracotta chimney pots

The Coupole - Galleries La -Fayette   ~
not only a shopping complex which is a joy to visit
for it's wealth of perfumes, shoes and designer clothes
plus those wonderful Pierre-Herme macarons !!
but if you look up you are encompassed in beauty from above.

dog-eared and crumpled .......

wonderful old used and antiquarian books are to found
in the tiny dark green bouquinist stalls along le Seine.
I could spend many happy hours thumbing through
delicate crumpled dog-eared pages
pondering not only on the story contained in the book
but the story of the book itself

stolen moments .....

from across the Seine  ~
I felt like the paparazzi filming a stolen kiss
but with my new zoom lens it was a moment in time
that needed to be captured
Bonne Chance
