Reflecting On Impressionism .....

Since as long as I can remember I have loved the works
by the French Impressionist artists - in particular
Claude Monet

I took these pics a few months ago while visiting the Japanese water- lily garden
at Monet's home "Giverny"

I have used a slight softening in these bottom two captures
to give a closer impression of how Monet
painted this magnificent water-garden

" My garden is my most beautiful masterpiece"
                                                      Claude Monet

Thank you for these pictures! I was not able to understand how the specific natural light of Paris/ France (where I grew up)was so important in the impressionists work until I moved to NY where the light makes everything so much more crisp and sharp in my opinion...

Fantastic captures of such a beautiful garden! They all look like paintings and would be worth framing and hanging! Awesome! Hope you have a lovely weekend, Dianne!

I've always loved Monet, also. And I really like what you did with your photos, I'm going to have to give that a try sometime!

Monet is a gardener's artist. I have always loved his works and your photos of his garden are beautiful. The softening effect really helps to capture his painting technique.

Even without the softening, the shots show the inspiration for Monet. I've only been to Monet's Garden in the spring, so I fear I've missed some of these beautiful soft colors.

I majored in art, so, of course, I took art history and my absolute fave artist was Monet. Thank you so much for visiting and saying hello over at my place today because now I have two new wonderful photography blogs to visit! I've been browsing through them both and now I have to go find out more! Hello from Atlanta, GA!
